READ & GAZE FOR FORMATION
Maybe you’ve felt it like I have — the exorbitant information available
and the rampant hunger to consume it all. Come learn a way to
release the need to “know.” Instead, be guided into Lectio
and Visio Divina to engage with contemplative listening,
thoughtful reflection and prayerful action. Practice this way of reading
and gazing that invites reflection to grow into greater Love.
PRAYERFULLY CREATE
You are a creator! Enter the process of creating like a child with joyful anticipation! There is no right or wrong, only unlimited expression. Become present to your inner Love wisdom via line, color and symbol work. Bring paper, a black permanent marker and some watercolors
or colored pencils to each session to unleash colorful you.
RECEIVE SONG & REFLECTION
Participate with music in a way that enhances calm, loving attention.
You’ll be guided to receive rhythm, chant your devotion
and become present to the colorful harmony of Love
that reverberates through creation.

THE THREAD
Whether you are new to Spiritual Formation or are an old hat at intentional methods of prayerful connection, you’re invited to (re)discover the vital thread of Love through sacred practice. During Week One, we’ll connect with the wisdom of our bodies via simple movement, engage Lectio Divina on the Living Water and be guided to create a simple mandala. We’ll become present to the rhythm of song and conclude with a brief time of sharing.
THE WAY
During Week Two, the mystics guide our way! Come experience body movement inspired by Julian of Norwich, receive the words of St. Theresa of Avila, create a simple mystic prayer card and be lead into song with the words of Hildegard of Bingen. This week, we welcome guest teacher, Monica Hix, to lead us to create our personal chant devotion. Weave relationship with ancient wisdom into your practice and experience an expansion of connnection.
A TAPESTRY
OF LOVE
Our final week, we’ll visualize becoming a tapestry of love for ourselves and our world via spiritual practice. Wrap your thread of love through the wide world via song and doodling. Be led to gaze with eyes of compassion during the practice of Visio Divina. Create your blessing hand and be guided into a heartful meditation to expand Love for yourself and the world.

What Materials Do I Need?
Simple materials are needed to create with Prayer Squares:
• a 7”x10” Mixed Media Sketchbook, like this
• a pencil
• a black permanent marker
• Watercolors, like these (or another favorite medium)
I use a black permanent marker and watercolors to demonstrate
the art portion of each gathering.
