They invite us to let go of something we’ve known
to move towards something new.
Thresholds have layers of complexity —
the ache of shifting friendships grasp our heart
even as a visionary thread tugs us forward.
This November,
in the Monthly Create Circle,
we’ll invite Mother Gatekeeper
to share a dose of love with us
and bless our thresholds.

*Red Thread Circle is a way to gather in community where a question is asked,
a thread is passed and each voice in the circle has an opportunity to respond without interruption or advice-giving. When I guide a Red Thread Circle, I include a
creative drawing & writing practice to enhance the experience. All you need is a
black permanent marker and some paper! No art experience necessary.
Who Is Mother Gatekeeper?
A few years ago, I had a dream where I was at church and one of the office workers gave me a passport to explore new lands. This was a profound dream and my first experience with the idea of “gatekeeper.” A human gatekeeper is one who controls access to something. They are the person who may seemingly be of no consequence, yet the power they hold is real. A simple example of this is the smiling desk receptionist at many offices you go to. They hold the power to turn down service, not allow access to a person you need to see or even keep you waiting without a simple hello. Human gatekeepers can be both a blessing and curse for those of us attempting to cross through their “gate.” So, who is Mother Gatekeeper?
Mother Gatekeeper is a sacred being who connects the secular and sacred.
She is the one who stands at the entrance of our change to purify our hearts and boost our spirits.
In lived reality, her presence may look like —
A surprising gift that comes our way and provides support we need.
Or, a prayer or mantra may rise from our hearts without knowing where it came from.
A nighttime dream that remains with us when we wake in the morning.
Her ways aren’t always easy to spot, yet, if you slow down to listen,
you make feel the tickle of wind on your skin,
or note a butterfly that passes by from seemingly out of nowhere.
She is the link to sacred secrets and deeper knowing.
When Mother Gatekeeper limits access to where you desire to go,
She’s likely doing it to keep you from harm.
The blessing of Mother Gatekeeper is that She is there
FULLY FOR YOU with PURE MOTIVE OF LOVE.
Come, be blessed by her hand of grace upon your life.
